Position: Fit-Up/Welder Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder and Fit-Up Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fitting up steel structures, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.

  • Perform welding and fit-up tasks for steel structures as per project specifications and blueprints.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan welding and fit-up operations.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment (e.g., MIG, Drills , Punch and etc.) and related tools.
  • Ensure high-quality welds by preparing and aligning metal parts.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and project managers, to ensure project success.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding and fit-up for steel structures.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG,Metal Core).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices in welding and construction.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work in various positions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Certification according to Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) standards Metal core and Mig Ticket
  • Experience with structural steel fabrication and installation.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and welding metallurgy.
  • Familiarity with drawing codes
  • Forklift and crane operation certifications.

  • Familiar with Plasma cutting , laser cutting , punching and drilling will be an advantage.
  • Full-time position with potential for overtime, depending on project demands.
  • Work environment includes exposure to heat, noise, and fumes; proper PPE will be provided.
  • Position may require standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods.
  • Occasional travel to job sites may be required.

Wages may vary depending on candidate’s experience

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$35.00 per hour depending to experience

  • After three months (Vision , medication , Dental, and all other group benefit packages)
  • Schedule: 6 AM to 14:30 pm or 14:30 PM– 1:00 AM
  • 8 hour shift and possibility of overtime if is needed
  • Saturday morning from 6 to 10 is part of 44 hours week
