Solico completed the structural steel scope for a solar energy facility in southeast Calgary, supplying the galvanized support structures used for the project’s photovoltaic solar panel system.
The project included approximately 16,806 lb of structural steel across six custom support structures designed for long-term durability and corrosion resistance.

Supporting Renewable Energy Infrastructure
Renewable energy projects require structural systems that can provide reliable performance over the long term while meeting the specific requirements of the installation site.
For this southeast Calgary project, Solico supplied the galvanized structural steel framework supporting the facility’s photovoltaic solar panels.
The work also required additional coordination due to installation taking place within an active parking lot, where vehicle access and customer safety needed to be maintained throughout construction.
Steel was sourced from multiple locations across Canada to help maintain project progress, while ongoing coordination with project stakeholders helped manage permitting and schedule impacts.
The completed project adds to Solico’s portfolio of custom structural steel solutions for commercial, infrastructure and renewable energy applications across Western Canada.
